A few days ago, Stella Sora was released on both mobile and PC platforms, and being a hyped game, I couldn’t wait to test and confirm if the game fully supports controllers.

So I did the test with different brands of controllers most especially the popular brands of controllers in the market.

So, here’s my findings;

Stella Sora controller support

Does Stella Sora have controller support?

The answer is yes. Stella Sora indeed has full controller support, which can be played using any Xbox controller, PS4 or PS5 controller, GameSir, Backbone controller, etc.

So if you’re looking for a new mobile game with controller support, then you have Stella Sora, a controller-supported mobile game.

Aside from that, the game is good with nice mechanics, though it’s not what I typically go for, as I’m not really into anime or fantasy-type gaming.

But all the same, it’s a good game I will most likely recommend to people even though it has very poor ratings on the Google Play Store.

Now listen, this is a typical gacha game, and if you don’t fancy gacha games, don’t bother to download or install it on your phone or tablet because you may get frustrated.

A typical gacha pay-to-win mobile game.

So if you don’t mind, then go ahead and install the game on your device. There’s no harm in trying, and the size isn’t large like other anime mobile games.

Is Stella Sora a PvP

No, Stella Sora is not primarily a PvP (player-vs-player) game, rather focuses on single-player/solo PvE (player-versus-environment) content.

The game is as an action RPG with roguelike elements, where you control a party of “Trekkers” and explore “Monoliths” in a mostly solo context.

Game overview

Stella Sora PvP

Stella Sora is a light-action, top-down fantasy RPG developed and published by Yostar, released globally on PC, iOS and Android in October 2025.

In the game, you play as the “Tyrant” who awakens from a long slumber in the world of Nova. You team up with a cast of “Trekkers” (characters with unique personalities) and ascend mysterious tower-like structures called Monoliths.

Gameplay mixes real-time action with roguelike elements: you control one Trekker in the field while two others support, choose perks on each Monolith floor, dodge attacks, activate skills, and create strategic team compositions.

Story-wise, the world blends fantasy and modern touches: knights using flip phones, witches riding broomsticks while taking photos, adventurers sipping sodas — creating a quirky yet anime-style setting.

While the game is primarily a PvE experience, with story mode, roguelike runs and various challenge modes, there’s no widely-noted real-time PvP mode mentioned at launch.

In short: Stella Sora offers stylish visuals, character collection, light-action roguelike gameplay, and narrative interactions — ideal if you enjoy anime-style gacha/character games with one-player focused content

Does Stella Sora have multiplayer modes?

Yes, Stella Sora does include competitive-style modes, though it isn’t a typical head-to-head PvP arena.

There is a mode called Menace Arena: unlocked around Authorization Level 4. You bring your team (“Records”) and fight through arenas of escalating difficulty and timed challenges.

The game’s wiki also lists Apex Showdown as being unlocked around Authorization Level 13 and described as a “PvP duels” mode (or at least a mode where Trekkers face off in boss-type setups) in some guides.

Now listen; The “competitive” aspect is more score-based, build-based and progression-based, rather than always direct player vs. player live combat. Some sources mention “duels” but the extent of live PvP may be limited or not fully fleshed out yet.

Because the game emphasises using your “Records” (saved team setups) from the roguelike mode Ascension to enter these modes, your performance depends heavily on how well you’ve built your Trekkers, Discs, etc.

If you’re looking for very standard PvP (like real-time 1v1 or free-for-all vs other humans), it may either be limited or coming in future updates.
